Back up McAfee ePO databases and directories

Before you upgrade your software, back up all McAfee ePO databases, as well as the McAfee ePO

directory.

Disable remote Agent Handlers

If upgrading from McAfee ePO 4.5.7 or later and you use remote Agent Handlers in your environment,

disable them to successfully complete your upgrade.

After your remote Agent Handlers are disabled, you can upgrade your server. Once the upgrade is

complete, upgrade your Agent Handlers.

For option definitions, click ? in the interface.

Task

Open the Handler List page: click Menu | Configuration | Agent Handlers, then click Agent Handlers in the Handler

Status monitor.

In the Handler List page, click Disable for each remote Agent Handler.

Log on to the system where the Agent Handler is installed, then open the Windows Services panel

and stop the McAfee Event Parser and McAfee Apache services.
